Fg Off Houghton Ultramarathon

On the 10th Apr 21 Fg Off Aidan Houghton completed the ‘Race to the Shire 54’ Ultramarathon to raise money for his daughters primary school, Sutterton Fourfields CE Primary School. This was to increase the outdoor activity and learning environment to help the children, teachers and school that had been effected by the recent Pandemic.

The Centurion Fund supported Aidan by providing a donation to cover the race entry fee, subsidised running equipment with local sponsor and Centurion Fund branding. He completed the event in 10:42:40 and managed to raise £1100 for the School and £150 for the Centurion Fund.

Considering it was his first attempt at this distance it was an excellent effort to be one of the 150 out of 200 to complete the event. He summarised the experience “the first 34 miles were smooth with no issues, no injuries or fatigue however, the last 20 miles I found that I was feeling very sorry for myself. I really appreciate all the support the Centurion Fund gave me and can’t wait to compete again very soon.”
