RAF Regt Golf Championships

On 16^th September 2020 the RAF Regiment Annual Golf Championships were hosted at The Oxfordshire Golf Course, Thame. The event took place over 36 holes in a one-day event. There were 36 competitors over 3 divisions and there was some excellent golf on display at this fantastic venue,  in relatively pleasant conditions. The group did well to adapt to the current situation with COVID and conducted themselves in a safe manner social distancing throughout to allow the event to take place.

The results were as follows:

Retired Winner – Leigh Sanders

Div C winner – John Martin

Div B winner – Warren Bowen

Div A winner – Gary Binns

Overall (Scratch) Regiment Champion – John Blanks

After the days golf we hosted a charity raffle to raise funds for the Centurion Fund, the prizes consisted of a variety of golf equipment some of which was kindly donated by various manufacturers. As a result we raised £415.00 for the Centurion Fund and then an additional £100.00 for Blood Cancer UK. We would like to thank the Centurion fund for supporting the event and we would also like to thank all the members of the society that made the journey to help make the event a resounding success.
